Docks, the Corps Shoreline and Lake Levels
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers owns the land around Lewisville Lake, so you can’t build a private dock behind your house. Boaters keep their boats at one of the lake’s marinas or launch at public ramps.
The lake’s normal level is about 522 feet, and the Corps holds a flowage easement up to about 537 feet, so some lots near the water sit partly inside it. Building in the easement is restricted, and flood insurance may be required. We check the survey and the easement line on every lot before you buy.
